Noticing change early: what emotional patterns actually look like
Emotional difficulty rarely arrives all at once. It usually shows up first as a drift in sleep, energy, patience or interest.

A wellbeing habit only works if you can keep it. Here's the case for a short daily check-in over an ambitious routine you'll abandon by Thursday.
Most wellbeing routines fail for an unglamorous reason: they ask for time people don't have. A thirty-minute practice competes with sleep, commutes, family and work. A five-minute practice competes with almost nothing.
GM5 is built around that constraint rather than against it. A daily check-in is short by design, because the value comes from repetition rather than intensity. Five minutes today, tomorrow and next Tuesday tells you far more about your emotional patterns than one long session a month.
Short also lowers the stakes. When a check-in is quick, you're more likely to be honest, and more likely to open the app on the days that are hardest — which are exactly the days worth recording.
Over time those small entries accumulate into something useful: a picture of what your ordinary looks like, so a change from it becomes visible earlier.
GM5 supports proactive wellbeing and healthy daily habits. It complements — and does not replace — professional medical or mental health care. If you need urgent help, contact your local emergency services.
