Resilience

Resilience is a practice, not a personality trait

The GM5 Team · May 2, 2026 · 5 min read

Resilience gets talked about as something people have. It's closer to something people rehearse.

Framing resilience as a trait is discouraging: either you have it or you don't. Framing it as a practice is more accurate and more useful.

Mind fitness exercises work the way physical training does. Repetition under low stakes builds capability you can draw on under high stakes.

GM5's approach is deliberately practical: focus, confidence and healthy coping strategies, exercised regularly rather than studied once.

Progress here is slow and largely invisible day to day, which is exactly why tracking it over months is worth doing.

GM5 supports proactive wellbeing and healthy daily habits. It complements — and does not replace — professional medical or mental health care. If you need urgent help, contact your local emergency services.
